New learning habits for the New Year

Happy New Year from all of us here at Fundanoodle! We love the fresh start a new year brings – the chance to make improvements, try new things and create new habits. It’s also the perfect time to set new learning goals with your child.

Here are a few of our tips for making the most of the new year with your little one:

Set goals together.
Take out a piece of paper and write down your learning goals. Make them attainable – for example, “We will practice one new letter a week!” Your child will be excited to have something to look forward to, and you can use the goals you set together to motivate them in the future.

Make time.
Decide when, and how often, you will spend time practicing together. Make a promise to each other that you will follow through and then do it! (Hint: Remember that is is best to practice for small intervals of time.)

Remember the rewards.
Make learning fun this year by keeping your child engaged and motivated. You can do this by remembering to reward their hard work. Fundanoodle writing tablets include reward stickers – children love picking out their sticker and placing it on the page. Be sure to reward them with praise too – “good job!” goes a long way!

Don’t forget to share your learning goals with us in the comments below! We can’t wait to have fun and learn with you in 2012!
